Dr. Meagan Bretz, L.Ac., DACM, FABORM

Dr. Meagan is nationally board certified by the NCCAOM as a Diplomat of Oriental Medicine, which includes acupuncture as well as Chinese herbal medicine. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist in Michigan. She graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where she completed four years of rigorous academic study and an additional 600+ hours of clinical work and then completed her Doctorate in 2021. In addition to acupuncture and herbal medicine, Meagan uses cupping, moxa, and electrical stimulation to treat her patients in clinic.

During her undergraduate career at Loyola University Chicago where she received her B.A. in Advertising and Public Relations, Meagan suffered from asthma and frequent insomnia. Her positive experiences with acupuncture not only got her off of Western prescriptions, but also lead her toward a new career path in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Meagan has a passion for herbal medicine and encourages her patients to take herbal formulas as a way for patients to bring the treatments home and become more involved in their healing process.

Meagan understands the importance of the patient/practitioner relationship, and therefore places great emphasis on making sure her patients feel comfortable and listened to. With her focus on patient care, Meagan treats a variety of conditions with a focus on Fertility, Reproductive health, Gastrointestinal disorders, and pain management.

Henry Buchtel, MMed (China), L.Ac (MI)

Henry has practiced acupuncture and herbal medicine in Michigan since 2012. He completed a 5-year graduate program at the Hunan University of Chinese Medicine in China, graduating with a Masters of Chinese Medicine (M.Med.). His clinical research focused on the treatment of frozen shoulder with acupuncture and dry needling.

Henry uses acupuncture for both rapid pain relief and long-term management of chronic pain conditions, as well as regulating menstruation, controlling allergies, cancer support, and preventative health.

In addition to acupuncture, Henry practices a unique form of acupressure or tuina for relieving pain and tension. This needle-free technique, inspired by the pushing-pulling of anchored guasha techniques, provides immediate relief by gently and deeply stimulating acupuncture points on the surface of the body.

Henry has been active with the Michigan Society of Acupuncturists and the American Society of Acupuncturists since 2013. Fluent in Chinese, he has translated books and articles from Chinese to English.
